Description
Don’t get cornered: our Sony FX5 Corner Top Plate makes sure you’ve always got a rigging option for your setup. Add a microphone via the cold shoe, or strap in via the QD socket – all whilst still using the FX5’s detachable EVF.
Bigger isn’t always better, and our Sony FX5 Corner Top Plate proves that to a fault. With a QD socket and Cold Shoe Mount for stripped-back rigging. Mount it directly to the FX5 body, independent of the XLR Handle or EVF and with the option to build around it with our other accessories.
Minimal footprint, maximum use. The Sony FX5 Corner Top Plate strikes a perfect balance between choice and convenience.
Corner the Market
A lot of camera cages force you to go all-in on a setup: when all you want to mount is a microphone, you don’t want a huge metal plate covered in redundant rigging options. Our Corner Top Plate meets you in the middle: offering a QD socket for camera straps and a Cold Shoe mount for microphones or lights. There’s also a front-facing M4 x 10mm mount, for adding 15mm rod brackets like our Forward Rod Mount.
Unblocked Views
Most FX5-sized cameras either have a built-in EVF, or don’t. Whether you’re aiming down the sights of the plug-in EVF or using an external display, the Corner Top Plate won’t get in the way. Alternatively, if you’re using the FX5’s XLR handle (and even pairing it with our Floating Top Plate), the Corner Top Plate still won’t get in the way.
Cage-Compatible
Whether you need a full rig-out or just a simple setup, the Corner Top Plate can fit your FX5 like a glove. You can mount it directly to the camera body solo, then build on it with our FX5 NATO Wing Grip and optional HDMI Clamp – all whilst keeping the rig itself low-profile.

The Sony FX5 Corner Top Plate comes with all required screws, but you will need your own 3mm Hex Key to install it. It can be used with or without the Sony FX5 Floating Top Plate.
1. Align the Corner Top Plate so that screws align with the threads on the top-left of the FX5 camera body: the open end of the Cold Shoe mount should be pointing forward.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tighten Corner Top Plate into place.
