Clean Rigging

The Left Side Plate offers a large selection of rigging options for your KOMODO build. For standard accessories, bolt-on components to the selection of 1/4" and 3/8” screw threads – each with anti-twist locating points. For quick-release camera straps, the top of the Side Plate has a QD socket (which is mirrored on the Right Side Plate), as well as a border of MAP M4 points. For accurate focus pulling, the Side Plate also features a film plane hook slot.

Adaptor-Friendly

Got a new set of primes and want to switch things up? The Left Side Plate accommodates a broad range of Lens Adaptors and Supports: not just our own options for Vocas and Kippertie, but also native RED PL Adaptor mounts. This means that you can support your setup with any lens – from Angénieux to Zeiss.

Breathing Room

To your RED rig’s airflow clean, the Left Side Plate is offset from the camera by 28mm. If your camera isn’t running hot, this space can also be used to rig accessories, avoiding clutter on the outside of your camera body.

The RED KOMODO-X Left Side Plate comes with all required screws, but you will require your own 3mm Hex Key in order to install it.

1. Align the Side Plate with the left-hand side of the KOMODO camera body.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to screw the Side Plate into place
