No Downtime

Our Universal Dovetail is a unique mounting system, perfect for minimalist rigs. It features dual compatibility with Manfrotto tripods and DJI gimbals – including an integrated DJI RS gear rack for balancing cameras – which gives you effortless switching between setups. When every second of cumbersome downtime counts, the Universal Dovetail cuts the last-minute scramble from your shoot schedule.

RED-dy for Anything

With the Side and Top Rails, you’ve got a selection of rigging options in a compact footprint. For classic bolt-on accessories, you’ve got 1/4" and 3/8” threads. For quick-release components, there are QD sockets and integrated NATO rails. To keep your gear safe, each thread has a helicoil-reinforced steel insert to prevent loosening, and the NATO rails feature safety stops at either end.

Adaptor-Friendly

When you step up from standard zooms to pristine primes, make sure you’ve got the right lens mount. Our Side and Top Rails feature dedicated mounts for Lens Adaptors and Supports: both for our own range of adaptor supports as well as first-party options from RED. The Essentials Kit for RED KOMODO-X comes with all required components and screws. You will require your own 3mm and 4mm Hex Keys, as well as a flathead screwdriver, to install it.

Universal Dovetail to Camera

1. Align the 3/8” and 1/4" screw threads of the camera with the screws on the Universal Dovetail – they can slide for optimal balance.

2. Use a flathead screwdriver to secure the dovetail to the camera.

Side Rails to Camera

1. Align the Right Side Rail with the right-hand side of the KOMODO camera body – making sure that the Bright Tangerine logo is the correct way up and facing outwards.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to screw the Side Rail into place.

3. Align the Left Side Rail with the left-hand side of the KOMODO camera body – making sure that the Bright Tangerine logo is the correct way up and facing outwards.

4. Use a 3mm Hex Key to screw the Side Rail into place.

Top NATO Rail to RED KOMODO (Non-RMI) or RED V-RAPTOR

1. Align the two outermost 1/4" screw threads with the sockets on the top of the KOMODO.

2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to insert and screw the two included 1/4" screws through both the rail and camera body.

Top NATO Rail to RED KOMODO (RMI)

1. Align the two innermost 1/4"screw threads (labelled “RMI”) with the 1/4" screw threads on top of the RED Monitor Interface.

2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to screw the NATO Rail to the RMI.
