Layered Quick-Release
Find yourself swapping mounts multiple times per shoot? Our LeftField Mini Kit combines several essential filmmaking standards into one setup. The LeftField Mini baseplate features our patented Open•UP mechanism, for seamless lifting on and off from ARRI standard dovetails. On top of that, the Universal Dovetail gives you an additional layer of quick release. And if that wasn’t enough, you can even detach the camera from that via the Arca Receiver.
Shoot to the Highest Standard
This stack of different parts isn’t just for quick-release, however. They double as risers, placing the C50’s optical centre at the 15mm LWS standard height. This means you can set up various accessories such as matte boxes or follow-focus with no trial-and-error.

For productions where precision is essential, our C50 Bottom Plate won’t let you down. Our anti-twist lip on the front keeps the camera firmly aligned, cutting out the guesswork as to whether you’ve installed everything correctly.
Quick-Release Convenience
The LeftField Kit features extra compatibility and functionality, giving you plenty of options. Alongside the Bottom Plate’s built-in Arca Swiss plate and ARRI dovetail mounting via the baseplate, the Universal Dovetail features unique dual compatibility with Manfrotto and DJI receivers – making it effortless to switch between mounts. This means if you need to swap to a gimbal, your downtime is measured in moments.
Balanced Builds
For a more low-profile setup more true to the C50’s form factor, you’ve still got plenty of rigging options. Our Left and Right Side Plates strike a balance between hugging the camera body and clearance for accessorising. The Left Side Plate gives you space to access the various inputs on the side of the C50, as well as easy space for attaching the included C50 HDMI Clamp so that you never lose signal.
Clean Rigging
Of course, the main point of a cage is adding accessories to your rig – and in this instance, the LeftField Mini Kit spoils you for choice. Choose from your classic bolt-on mounts via 1/4" and 3/8” screw threads – each with anti-twist pin threads – or alternative mounts including MAP M4 points, QD sockets and integrated NATO rails.
Easily Handled
When you’re dealing with limited space on a camera like the C50, you normally have to compromise on something. But not with our Handle Top Plate, which can be installed with the stock Canon C50 Top Handle via the same screws, meaning it is quick and easy to install and remove. For added security, there is a built-in safety bolt that you can tighten to minimise wobble.
Part of the Canon C50 System

The Canon C50 LeftField Mini Kit comes with all required components and screws. You will require your own 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm Hex Key in order to assemble the components.
1. Align the captive 1/4" screw with the thread on the base of the C50 – the Bottom Plate should match the shape of the camera base with the Bright Tangerine logo facing forward on the camera.
2. Use the included flathead screwdriver to tighten the screw and secure the camera to the Bottom Plate.
1. Loosen the Top Handle thumbscrews.
2. Slide the Top Plate in at a slight angle, so that the thumbscrews are snugly indented into the Top Plate’s channels.
3. Tighten the thumbscrews, using the 3/16” Hex Key for extra torque if necessary.
4. Use a 2mm Hex Key to insert the safety bolt.
1. Align the Receiver in the central channel of the Universal Dovetail and insert the two 1/4"-20 screws.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver secure the two together.
1. Clip the Bottom Plate into the Receiver and tighten the lever clamp.
Left
1. Align the Riser’s mounting holes with the two M4 threads on the outer edge of the LeftField Mini Baseplate – on the same side as the release clamp.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
Middle
1. Align the profile of the middle part of the Riser, aligning the M4 screw threads and ensuring that the Riser plate is centred.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
Right
1. Line up the orange safety stop with the corresponding port on the LeftField Mini Baseplate, sliding it in until the M4 screw threads are aligned.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
1. Align the captive 1/4" screw on the top of the Side Plate with the screw thread on the top-right of the C50.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver to secure the Side Plate to the camera.
3. Next, align the screw on the bottom of the Right Side Plate with the mounting thread on the Bottom Plate.
4. Use a 2.5mm Hex Key to secure it in place.
1. Align the screw on the bottom of the Side Plate with the thread on the left-hand side of the Bottom Plate – the writing on the Side Plate should be facing upwards.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to secure the Side Plate in place.
3. Align the top screw with the thread on the top-left of the C50 – just below the camera strap mount.
1. Align the screw thread of the HDMI Clamp with the marked gap on the Side Plate and use a 3mm Hex Key to loosely mount the Clamp in place.
2. Insert your HDMI cable and align the Clamp so that the flat base of the cable is flush with the Clamp.
3. Use the 3mm Hex Key to fully tighten the Clamp to the Side Plate.
4. Secure the HDMI cable in place by tightening the thumbscrew.
1. Slide the dovetail plate in through the front of the baseplate, until it is optimally aligned and balanced. Dovetails can only be loaded from the front.
2. When in place, use the ratcheting lever clamp to secure the Riser.
Bottom Plate to Camera
1. Align the captive 1/4" screw with the thread on the base of the C50 – the Bottom Plate should match the shape of the camera base with the Bright Tangerine logo facing forward on the camera.
2. Use the included flathead screwdriver to tighten the screw and secure the camera to the Bottom Plate.
Top Plate to Handle
1. Loosen the Top Handle thumbscrews.
2. Slide the Top Plate in at a slight angle, so that the thumbscrews are snugly indented into the Top Plate’s channels.
3. Tighten the thumbscrews, using the 3/16” Hex Key for extra torque if necessary.
4. Use a 2mm Hex Key to insert the safety bolt.
Arca Receiver to Universal Dovetail
1. Align the Receiver in the central channel of the Universal Dovetail and insert the two 1/4"-20 screws.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver secure the two together.
Bottom Plate to Arca Receiver
1. Clip the Bottom Plate into the Receiver and tighten the lever clamp.
DJI Riser Mount to LeftField Mini
Left
1. Align the Riser’s mounting holes with the two M4 threads on the outer edge of the LeftField Mini Baseplate – on the same side as the release clamp.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
Middle
1. Align the profile of the middle part of the Riser, aligning the M4 screw threads and ensuring that the Riser plate is centred.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
Right

Right Side Plate to Camera
1. Align the captive 1/4" screw on the top of the Side Plate with the screw thread on the top-right of the C50.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver to secure the Side Plate to the camera.
3. Next, align the screw on the bottom of the Right Side Plate with the mounting thread on the Bottom Plate.
4. Use a 2.5mm Hex Key to secure it in place.
Left Side Plate to Camera
1. Align the screw on the bottom of the Side Plate with the thread on the left-hand side of the Bottom Plate – the writing on the Side Plate should be facing upwards.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to secure the Side Plate in place.
3. Align the top screw with the thread on the top-left of the C50 – just below the camera strap mount.
HDMI Clamp to Side Plate
1. Align the screw thread of the HDMI Clamp with the marked gap on the Side Plate and use a 3mm Hex Key to loosely mount the Clamp in place.
2. Insert your HDMI cable and align the Clamp so that the flat base of the cable is flush with the Clamp.
3. Use the 3mm Hex Key to fully tighten the Clamp to the Side Plate.
4. Secure the HDMI cable in place by tightening the thumbscrew.
Universal Dovetail to Riser
1. Slide the dovetail plate in through the front of the baseplate, until it is optimally aligned and balanced. Dovetails can only be loaded from the front.
2. When in place, use the ratcheting lever clamp to secure the Riser.
