Both the dovetail and the Top Plate core are covered in 1/4" and 3/8” anti-twist threads; making it ideal for lower-profile setups.

Quick Customisation

The major advantage of the VENICE Sliding Top Plate over conventional camera plates is how easy it is to adjust: rather than deconstructing your setup every time, release the locking lever and slide the entire dovetail plate out. Once you’ve added, adjusted or removed any accessories, simply slide it back into place and get the clapperboard ready.

Expanded Rigging

Our new and improved Top Plate gives you more accessory mounting options. We’ve extended the length of the dovetail plate to 147mm, giving you an even greater range of 1/4" and 3/8” screw threads for rigging. And of course, each one is fitted with locating pin threads to ensure a tight hold on monitor arms, handles or anything else you need to mount to the VENICE.

Rod Rigging

For adding EVFs or lens supports, the VENICE Sliding Top Plate comes with a front-mounted 15mm rod console. The height can be adjusted up and down - the dovetail plate can even pass over rod console at the lowest setting, to help with balance – to work with larger or smaller lenses. It can also be set to the 15mm LWS standard height for maximised compatibility.

Low-Profile

The Sliding Top Plate is a clean addition to any VENICE build: from minimal rigs to complex cine builds. It mounts discreetly to the top of the VENICE camera body, with the core unit featuring cutouts to help with heat dispersion. There are dedicated mounts for standard 1/4"-20 Top Handles, as well as rigging points for the two new Side Plates  and a sensor plane hook on both the left and right.

The Sliding Top Plate for Sony VENICE comes with all required components and screws. You will require a 4mm Hex Key in order to install it.

Top Plate Core to Camera

1. Align the four 1/4" mounting points on the Top Plate with the threads on the VENICE body – the locking lever should be on the camera-left side.

2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to secure the core to the camera.

Dovetail to Top Plate

1. Slide the Dovetail plate in from the rear of the camera.

2. When positioned, tighten the clamp to secure the dovetail in position.

Front Rod Console to Top Plate

1. Align the Rod Console up or down on the front screws.

2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to attach the Front Rod console to the corresponding threads on the Top Plate.

The Sony VENICE 1 & 2 Sliding Top Plate Mk II is compatible with both the Sony VENICE and the Sony VENICE 2: mounting to the same rigging points on both cameras. It is compatible with the original VENICE Top Plate, though both the mounting core and dovetail plate are longer in the newer model to cover the full extent of the VENICE body.

The Sliding Top Plate is compatible with the new left and right Side Plates for the VENICE, and the Top Plate is required for mounting them.
