The Sony FX5 Top Handle NATO Rail is a sleek solution for adding extra rigging on top of your rig. Screw accessories into place with accurate anti-twist, or cut out the Hex Keys via the built-in NATO rail.
Designed to work with our Top Handle Extension, the NATO Rail means you don’t have to compromise on audio control or ergonomics.
Experience top performance from the Sony FX5 Top Handle NATO Rail. Slotting seamlessly on top of your stock XLR handle, you can create a more detailed rig in moments. Thanks to both bolt-on and NATO mounting options, you can build the rig as last-minute as the call sheet hits your inbox.

You have 3/8” and 1/4" screw threads, each with ARRI-standard anti-twist pins, as well as an integrated NATO rail with safety stops. This gives you the freedom to mount monitors, lights or anything else from the top of your rig.
Extension-Compatible
If you want a rigid and versatile handle setup, there’s no better combo than the NATO Rail and our Top Handle Extension. This gives you mounting options for the top and side, letting you build up and out of the stock FX5 handle. Mount an eye light or a monitor, whilst also building out your own custom handle shape.

The Sony FX5 Top Handle NATO Rail comes as a standalone unit. You will require the stock Sony FX5 XLR handle and our Sony FX5 Top Handle Extension, as well as a 4mm Hex Key, in order to install it all.
1. Align the NATO Rail with the marked threads on the Top Plate – it should sit over-hanging the rear of the handle with the final screw aligned with the Handle Extension.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly screw the four 1/4" screws into place.

The Sony FX5 Top Handle NATO Rail is designed to match the Sony FX5 stock XLR handle – and requires our separate Top Handle Extension in order to be installed. It features a single 3/8” and multiple 1/4" mounting points, as well as an integrated NATO rail.
