Quick-Release Convenience

The NATO rail has become one of the most popular rigging options in the filmmaking field – if not the new default for most. If you want the option to quickly mount something at all and equally quickly dismount it come wrap, then the Wing Grip is the perfect choice: offering an integrated NATO rail with safety stops at either end.

Clean Customisation

If you prefer old-fashioned, bolt-on rigging; then you’ve still got plenty of options. The Wing Grip features a line of 1/4" and 3/8” screw threads, each with ARRI standard anti-twist pin sockets to keep everything precisely aligned. And if those aren’t to your liking, try the MAP M4 threads a few millimetres over. There’s also a set of MAP M4 threads on the front and rear, for attaching rod brackets like our 15mm Forward Rod Mount.

Wing It

Need to go handheld? The Wing Grip is a great place for your hands to find purchase, to avoid an unintentional shaky-cam look. Offset from the camera body, the Wing Grip has plenty of space for fingers, even when used with our HDMI or USB-C Clamps.

The FX5 is a production powerhouse, and the NATO Wing Grip gives you the finishing touches for your rig. Mounting to our Bottom Plate and two of our Top Plate options, the Wing Grip combines them to form a rock-solid cage. With all parts being made of our ultra-strong aluminium, you won’t have to worry about damaging your cage.

The Sony FX5 NATO Wing Grip requires the Sony FX5 Bottom Plate and either the FX5 Corner Top Plate or NATO Top Plate in order to be installed – as well as a 3mm Hex Key.

1. Align the bottom mounting screw with the mounting thread on the FX5 Bottom Plate – the correct screw is the one closes to the front of the camera.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tighten the Wing Grip into place.
3. Align the top mounting screw with the corresponding thread on either of the Top Plates.
4. Use a 3mm Hex Key to secure the second screw in place.
