Sony FX5 EVF Mounting Kit
Description
The Sony FX5 EVF Mounting Kit separates the viewfinder from the camera body, giving you full freedom of movement without losing connection to the camera. Fully articulate the EVF to whatever angle suits you, and combine it with our XLR Handle setup for a multipurpose rig.
If you’re tired of hunching over your rig to check your shot, then the Sony FX5 EVF Mounting Kit is exactly what you need. Add a fully-articulating viewfinder setup to your build, and opening up your rig with the potential to double up the EVF and XLR Handle.
Free Movement
If you don’t like having your nose pressed up against the FX5’s power switch, or don’t want to pop a squat for every shot change, then the EVF Mounting Kit gives you more space, and more freedom. Tilt the EVF a full 360 degrees on a support rod, adjust the height along a NATO rail, and angle the entire setup closer or further from the camera body via the second rod. We can’t even articulate how much articulation you’ve got.
Secure Setups
Despite all the moving parts, everything is kept secure – and our high-grade designs will make sure nothing comes loose over time. If you’re working with a Wes Anderson-type, you’ve also got scope to be precise: the EVF will stay level to the camera at all times, preventing any unwanted Dutch angles.
Strong Connection
Our FX5 EVF Cable gives you a full foot of spacing from camera to viewfinder, meaning you’ve got plenty of space for your setup. With no lag and not a dead pixel in sight, you’ll have no compromise with your EVF setup even at the extremes of spacing. If your closer-knit cables are looking messy, add some cable management to tidy things up.
Free Rigging
For the full EVF Mounting Kit, all you need is a set of M4 x 10mm screw threads. We’ve put plenty of them on our Sony FX5 cage for you to find the right one for your build. Find the right one, and all it takes is a few twists of a Hex Key to start building your setup.
Double Up
A side benefit of shifting the EVF off the camera body is also freeing up the camera’s multifunction shoe for rigging. You could simply add your own microphone, but if you’re up for some more ambitious tinkering, you can add the FX5’s XLR Handle at the same time as the EVF. Give yourself clear vision and full 32-bit audio, all in one package.
Support Your Vision
If you don’t like the look of our EVF Mounting Kit, why not change it? The EVF Bracket doesn’t limit you to any one configuration. Add some extra height or pan-and-tilt functionality via our range of Monitor Mounts, for a clean build. You could side-mount on our Monitor Hinge if you’re nostalgic for the FX6, or give your rig a giraffe neck with the Titan Arm 2 Ti: we’ve given you as many options as we can, but the choice is yours.
