Quick-Release Convenience

Sometimes you’ll want to balance a bulkier lens on a long dovetail, or break out the gimbal for some ninja walking that your knees won’t thank you for. Our LeftField Kit gives you effortless quick-release for a range of setups: the LeftField Mini Baseplate mounts to ARRI standard dovetails, but you can detach the baseplate and use the Universal Dovetail to swap over to a Manfrotto or DJI mount. And for the most minimal setups, detach the Cage itself for a quick Arca mount.

High Standards

If you need to build a full camera system – with matte boxes, follow-focus or other bells and whistles – then consistent rod support is essential. The stack of Risers and Bases may make the LeftField Kit look tall, but it sets the camera to the 15mm LWS standard height: making it quick and easy to rig. For professional shooters with a lot of gear, the LeftField Kit makes setup a breeze.

Low-Profile, High-Quality

Our Nikon ZR Cage is designed to match the profile of the Nikon ZR, making it a convenient and comfortable addition to your rig. The whole cage is made from CNC-machined aluminium: making it rigid and reliable for years to come. With a design contouring to the ZR’s shape, and an anti-twist lip on the front of the Bottom Plate, your cage will keep everything clean and comfortable.

Comfortably Handled

For convenient carrying between takes or low-angle shots without throwing your back out, the featured 3/8”-16 Create Top Handle gives you a secure handheld point. Covered in its own array of mounting threads, save for a textured rubber inlay for added grip, and can be built up with our range of Handle Extensions. When it comes time to wrap, detach it in seconds via the easily-accessed thumbscrew.

Full Functionality

The LeftField Kit keeps access to as much of the ZR inputs as possible - but where it needs cover something up, it gives you an alternative. Whether that’s adding additional camera strap loops or adding spring-loaded function buttons to the cage; you’ll be able to shoot without compromise. For outgoing cables, we’ve got a two-in-one HDMI and USB-C Clamp. And for rod mounting lens supports like the PDMOVIE LiDAR Motor range, use the included 15mm Forward Rod Mount.

The LeftField Kit for Nikon ZR comes with all required components; but you will require your own 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm Hex Key in order to correctly assemble it around your camera.
Bottom Plate to Camera
1. Align the 1/4" screw on the base of the Bottom Plate with the thread on the base of the ZR – the lip with the “Bright Tangerine” logo should be facing forward underneath the lens mount.
2. Use the included flathead screwdriver to install it.
Cage to Camera
1. Align the threads on top of the Side Grip with the screw threads on the Top Plate, and insert the two countersunk M3 screws into place – with the screw head facing inwards. Use a 2mm Hex Key to secure the two together.
2. Align the Cage with the screw threads on the Bottom Plate and with the strap points on the camera body. Insert the M3 screws into the Bottom Plate and use a 2.5mm Hex Key to secure the Cage to the Bottom Plate.
3. Align the Cage on the ZR camera body, and insert the camera strap points to the matching threads on either side. Use a 2.5mm Hex Key to screw them into place.
Top Handle to Cage
1. Align the 3/8” screw of the Top Handle with the compatible thread – ensuring the anti-twist pins are correctly positioned or removed.
2. Use the thumbscrew to tightly screw the Top Handle in place. For extra torque, use a flathead screwdriver.
HDMI & USB-C Clamp to Cage
1. Align the clamp with the HDMI and USB-C port, and use a 3mm Hex Key to loosely screw the Clamp into the Bottom Plate.
2. Insert HDMI and/or USB-C cables into their respective slots, threading them through the clamp’s open channel.
3. Align the left side of the cables with the left side of the Clamp, and fully secure the Clamp to the Bottom Plate.
4. Use the thumbscrews to tighten the Clamp on the HDMI and USB-C cables, respectively.
Hand Grip to Cage
1. Align the two 3/8” screws with corresponding threads on the Nikon ZR Cage.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to securely screw the Hand Grip in place.
Arca Receiver to Universal Dovetail
1. Align the Receiver in the central channel of the Universal Dovetail and insert the two 1/4"-20 screws.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver secure the two together.
Bottom Plate to Arca Receiver
1. Clip the Bottom Plate into the Receiver and tighten the lever clamp.
DJI Riser Mount to LeftField Mini
Left
1. Align the Riser’s mounting holes with the two M4 threads on the outer edge of the LeftField Mini Baseplate – on the same side as the release clamp.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
Middle
1. Align the profile of the middle part of the Riser, aligning the M4 screw threads and ensuring that the Riser plate is centred.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
Right
1. Line up the orange safety stop with the corresponding port on the LeftField Mini Baseplate, sliding it in until the M4 screw threads are aligned.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
