Chakra Wheel Grip Handle (3/8”-16)
Description
For the same reason you keep a spare tire in your car, keep a Chakra Wheel Grip Handle in your camera bag. If something crucial breaks and you resort to operating your camera by hand, make sure that hand is comfortable.
Why not have the best of both worlds? The Chakra Wheel Grip Handle (3/8”-16) gives you a rock-solid grip, with a soft-texture rubber inlay: meaning you can grip your rig firmly but comfortably. The 3/8”" screw makes installation a breeze, and anti-twist pins mean that it stays put when you do.
No Sudden Twists
For rigid rigging, this Chakra Wheel Grip mounts via a built-in 3/8”" screw. All it takes is a few turns of a 4mm Hex Key to install it to your rig – and most cages are covered in 3/8”" threads, spoiling you for choice. The Wheel Grip also features anti-twist pins, to ensure that the grip doesn’t spin out accidentally. If you’re working with a mount that doesn’t support or doesn’t need them, all it takes is a flathead screwdriver to remove them.
Well-Rounded
Why choose a Wheel Grip over a standard top handle, or our KASBAH Hand Grips? The Chakra is a more versatile option: where a Hand Grip tends to sit to the side of your rig, and a top handle (unsurprisingly) goes on top; a Wheel Grip can do both, or neither. Add a Chakra anywhere: as a rear handle block for stable pans, a side handle for handheld shooting, or on a wireless monitor to stop the Director complaining.
Textured Grip
Most round grips like these either have too little rubber, or no rubber at all – and nobody likes gripping cold metal for hours at a time. The Chakra Grips have a decent depth to them: so they contour to your hands just enough, but still feel firm to grip. The notches edges add an extra degree of security: stopping your hand from twisting - or worse, blistering.
Built to (Out)last
Pulling off a Chazelle-style whip-pan? The Chakra Grip can handle the torque. The Wheel Grip is made from the sort of aluminium they fire into space: with dedicated cutouts to reduce weight without compromising on strength. The Chakra will keep stay strong through clammy hands and clumsy pans.
Part of the Chakra System
The name of our Wheel Grips has more in common with a yoga studio than a film studio. “Chakra” is a Sanskrit word that translates to “wheel”. But if you’re looking stability, durability and reliability on your next set; then make sure your own Chakra is aligned.
1. Align the Chakra’s 3/8”" screw with a corresponding thread – ensuring anti-twist pins are removed or correctly placed.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly secure the screw in place until it is flush with the mount.
