Like online dating, it’s always disappointing when something doesn’t match its profile. With the C50 Right Side Plate, we’ve designed it especially to contour to the C50’s hand grip. This means that your rig is still comfortable to hold with minimal rigging, and unintrusive when decked out with gear.

No Unexpected Twists

But if you need rigging real-estate more than you need a grip on your camera, that is what the Right Side Plate was designed for. A selection of 1/4" and 3/8” rigging points give you side-mounting freedom for your rig. Each one comes with anti-twist threads: ensuring that your gear won’t move unexpectedly.

Flip the Script

Vertical is king these days, so if the client is calling for 9:16 rather than 16:9, the C50 Right Side Plate can accommodate. Simply mount the camera in portrait via the central 3/8” screw thread: ideal for dovetail plates like our Universal Dovetail.

The Canon C50 Right Side Plate comes with all components and screws. You will require our Canon C50 Bottom Plate, as well as a flathead screwdriver and 2.5mm Hex Key to install it.

1. Align the captive 1/4" screw on the top of the Side Plate with the screw thread on the top-right of the C50.

2. Use a flathead screwdriver to secure the Side Plate to the camera.

3. Next, align the screw on the bottom of the Right Side Plate with the mounting thread on the Bottom Plate.

4. Use a 2.5mm Hex Key to secure it in place.

The Canon C50 Right Side Plate is designed to be compatible with the Canon C50 alone, with a dedicated shape and mounting points for that camera. It requires the Canon C50 Bottom Plate to be attached for a full and secure installation.
