Canon C50 Left Side Plate
Description
Give your rig space to breathe with our Canon C50 Left Side Plate. Adding a range of rigging options to your compact Canon camera, this durable plate gives you quick-release for the accessories that need it, and secure rigging for the ones that don’t.
With ample clearance for cable management, the Left Side Plate is ideal for C50 shooters.
- Clean Rigging – The Side Plate features 1/4″ and 3/8” anti-twist mounts on the front, side and back.
- Quick-Release Convenience – The Left Side Plate features a NATO rail: giving you easy and convenient rigging.
- Cable Clearance – Combine with our USB-C or HDMI Clamps to secure your cables in place.
- Easy Viewing – Review the angle from any angle: the C50 LCD screen can still fully articulate with the Side Plate installed.
- Spaced Out – The distance from the C50 body also gives you space to grip or mount additional accessories.
Turn your B-Camera into an A-Camera with our Canon C50 Left Side Plate: which gives you the rigging options of a full-fledged camera setup with the C50’s minimal footprint. Featuring a NATO rail for quick-release as well as bolt-on mounting points, you have plenty of choices for customising.
With space for cable management and tilting your screen, the Left Side Plate is ideal for complex rigging.
Quick-Release Convenience
With a NATO rail running the length of the Side Plate, you’ve got easy access to quick-release rigging options. This simple design lets you mount compatible NATO clamps, such as our Universal Monitor Hinge for a secure external display. Don’t worry about gear slipping off: a safety stop at either end means that everything is secure when you’re shooting, but still detached at the push of a button come wrap time.
Rigging Real-Estate
Along with the NATO rail, you have a range of bolt-on screw threads for simpler rig building. A selection of 1/4" and 3/8” rigging points on the front, side and back give you side-mounting freedom for your rig. Each one comes with anti-twist threads: ensuring that your gear won’t move unexpectedly. You’ve also got a line of MAP M4 points, as well as an extra thread for mounting camera straps.
Compact Clearance
A lot of cages for compact cameras trade customisation options for easy access to the camera functions themselves. We’ve struck a balance between the two: with space between the C50 body and the main part of the Side Plate. This gives you space to access the various inputs on the C50, or use lens adaptors that feature drop-in filter slots like on the MOFAGE POCO.
Cable Management
If you’ve ever felt the frustration of a phone charger that only works at a specific angle, then avoid supersizing that feeling with your C50’s cables. Combine the Side Plate with our USB-C or HDMI Clamps to secure your inputs in place – no more loss-of-signal for your monitors.

Build a rig that can fit in your pocket with the Bright Tangerine Canon C50 range: with an array of carefully designed and convenient mounting options.
The Canon C50 Left Side Plate comes with all required components and screws. You will require the Canon C50 Bottom Plate to be installed to the camera already, along with a 3mm and 4mm Hex Key.
Side Plate to Camera
1. Align the screw on the bottom of the Side Plate with the thread on the left-hand side of the Bottom Plate – the writing on the Side Plate should be facing upwards.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to secure the Side Plate in place.
3. Align the top screw with the thread on the top-left of the C50 – just below the camera strap mount.
HDMI Clamp to Side Plate
1. Align the screw thread of the HDMI Clamp with the marked gap on the Side Plate and use a 3mm Hex Key to loosely mount the Clamp in place.
2. Insert your HDMI cable and align the Clamp so that the flat base of the cable is flush with the Clamp.
3. Use the 3mm Hex Key to fully tighten the Clamp to the Side Plate.
4. Secure the HDMI cable in place by tightening the thumbscrew.
USB-C Clamp to Side Plate
1. Align the M4 screw with the second or third-furthest thread to the right on the top of the Side Plate – the Clamp should sit loosely aligned with the USB-C input.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to loosely install the Clamp.
3. Insert the USB-C cable and position so that the base of the cable is flush with the Clamp.
4. Use the thumbscrew to tighten the USB-C Clamp into its final position.
The Left Side Plate is spaced to allow extra clearance for lens accessories, such as adaptors with drop-in filters such as the MOFAGE POCO. The Side Plate also allows room for the Canon LCD screen to be fully articulated – however, please note that with the HDMI or USB-C Clamp installed, this is limited to a 30-degree tilt window.
