The Canon C50 Handle Top Plate is an elegant solution for complex rigging.

Smooth Setups
If your C50 has just arrived, the Handle Top Plate can be installed right out of the gate. The Top Plate slots in via the same screws that come with your Top Handle, meaning it is quick and easy to install and replace. For added security, there is a built-in safety bolt that you can tighten to minimise wobble.
Rigging Real-Estate
Once installed, you are spoiled for choice for rigging options. The Top Plate features 1/4" and 3/8” screw threads, each with ARRI-standard anti-twist pin threads for secure mounting. For camera straps, choose between dual QD sockets or a simple strap hook; and you’ve got an array of MAP M4 points around the side and front. To round things off, a Cold Shoe mount sits at the front: perfect for additional audio or lighting.

The Handle Top Plate follows the same codes and conventions of all of our gear: we build it to be used on set, and we build it to last. Made from anodised aluminium, the Top Plate will be resistant to all the worst wear-and-tear. The Canon C50 Handle Top Plate comes as a standalone unit that also features an optional 3/16” Hex Key for tightening – though you will also require your own 2mm Hex Key. The Top Handle must be installed before the Top Plate.
1. Loosen the Top Handle thumbscrews.
2. Slide the Top Plate in at a slight angle, so that the thumbscrews are snugly indented into the Top Plate’s channels.
3. Tighten the thumbscrews, using the 3/16” Hex Key for extra torque if necessary.
4. Use a 2mm Hex Key to insert the safety bolt.

The Canon C50 Handle Top Plate is compatible with the Canon C50 only: the plate’s mounting threads are designed to match those of the stock C50 Top Handle. Users not using the stock Handle are recommended to use the Canon C50 NATO Top Plate
