Description
The Canon C400 Top Plate Mk II adds new accessory mounting points to the top of the C400; including 1/4″, 3/8”, MAP M4 and QD sockets.
Consisting of three modules that can be used individually or together, the Top Plate allows you to build on your rig without covering up core C400 features – maintaining full access.
- Modular Design – The Top Plate comes in three independent parts that can be used independently.
- Accessory Mounting – Build on your C400 with additional mounts including a 15mm rod console, 1/4” and 3/8” screw threads, QD sockets and MAP M4 points.
- Low-Profile – The Top Plate sits on the C400 without obstructing inputs such as the cable clamp or hot shoe mount.
- Shockmount Relocation – The Top Plate provides an alternate mount for the C400’s microphone shockmount.
- Complete the Set – Use the Top Plate Filler to create a complete C400 plate.
The Canon C400 Top Plate Mk II comes with all required screws and components. You will require a 2.5mm Hex Key in order to correctly install it.
1. To install the top plate onto the camera, line up the four screws on the left and right brackets with their corresponding mounting points on the C400.
2. Use a 2.5mm Hex Key to tightly attach them to the camera.
1. Align the front 15mm rod console pins with the matching threads on the left & right plates in the orientation you require.
2. Secure the rod console to the plates using the 2.5mm Hex key.
Top Plate to Camera

Rod Console to Top Plate

The Canon C400 Top Plate Mk II is compatible with the Canon C400, with screw threads designed to match that specific camera.
There are side-mounted 1/4"-20 points for attaching Cheese Plates or other third-party accessories, and has a dedicated channel for the Canon C400 Top Plate Filler. The Top Plate also provides alternate mounting for the C400 microphone shockmount and the stock C400 top handle.
The Top Plate has been redesigned with a larger space to reach the C400’s power switch and sensor plane hook, to make them easier to access.
