The Titan Arm 2 is a naturally stiff monitor arm. The highly-precise piston mechanism has the equivalent of two tonnes of force on it at all times – designed to stay in place unless you put some force on it. But if you find the arm impossible to move, the mechanism could have frozen. Here are some steps to run through if you think this has happened.
Solution #1: Keep it Loose
The friction-based mechanism for the Titan Arm 2 will freeze if left locked for too long - we recommend storing the arm unlocked when not in use. If you find the arm has frozen, apply some heavier pressure to the arm to get it moving.
If the two ends of the arm are separated, the easier way to fix it is to stand on one end and put some weight on the other - don’t worry, the arm can take the strain. After that, the arm should return to normal.

Solution #2: Add Some Extra Grease
If you find that the arm is still locked or too tough to move in general, you can grease the wheels. We recommend this 3-in-1 oil, which should be available worldwide. Otherwise; WD40, GT85 or any other PTFE-type oil should work.
Simply loosen the clamp fully and separate out the two sides of the Titan Arm. Add 2-4 drops of oil as indicated here, and then reassemble - making sure the washers are aligned as shown.

This may make the arm slightly weaker, but should make it easier to move in general.
Tip: You can also adjust the resistance of either end of the arm. Under each ball-and-socket joint is a grub screw, that can be turned to increase or decrease resistance.
