Quick-Release Convenience
The LeftField Mini is our flagship baseplate in a more compact footprint, at 60mm in length to the LeftField 3’s 100mm. But all we’ve cut down on is form, not function: our patented Open•UP quick-release system allows you to easily remove your rig for quick adjustments. The Advanced Kit also features an ARRI dovetail, which can be installed to gimbals, sliders or other mounting points.
Designed for DJI
The Advanced Kit features a dedicated DJI Riser, that sets your C80 to the correct height for gimbal operation when paired with the LeftField Mini Baseplate. The low-profile combination of Baseplate and Riser are cleanly installed and offers a stable platform for customisation.
Multi-Standard Dovetail
The Universal Dovetail is the bridging point between your camera and the LeftField Mini. Seamlessly slotting into the DJI Riser with an integrated gear rack, the Universal Dovetail features captive screws for mounting the C80, which can slide back-and-forth to find the optimal balance for your rig. For shifting from gimbals to tripods, the dovetail has dual compatibility with DJI and Manfrotto plates.
A Complete Cage
For accessorising your camera with additional parts, you are spoiled for choice. The Canon C80 Top Plate and Side Rib complement each other perfectly; with an array of mounting options including 1/4″ and 3/8” anti-twist points as well as MAP M4 points, a Cold Shoe mount, QD sockets, NATO rails and 15mm rod support. You can form a robust Canon C80 camera cage, offering customisation freedom without compromising the C80’s footprint or functionality.
Extra-Secure
In order to complete your C80 rig, the Advanced Kit also comes with some quality-of-life accessories that help ensure your rig is secure. The NATO Top Handle attaches to the Top Plate and provides a convenient carrying handle – along with additional accessory mounting points. For ensuring that your monitor feed isn’t interrupted, the HDMI Clamp secures cabling in place. And for ensuring that your rig is completely secure, the Side Rib Brace connects the C80’s Side Rib to the Universal Dovetail.

Instructions/Assembly
The LeftField Mini Canon C80 Advanced Kit (DJI) comes with all required screws and components. You will require a flathead screwdriver as well as a 2mm and a 3mm Hex Key to assemble the kit.
DJI Riser to LeftField Mini Baseplate
Left
1. Align the Riser’s mounting holes with the two M4 threads on the outer edge of the LeftField Mini Baseplate – on the same side as the release clamp.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
Middle
1. Align the profile of the middle part of the Riser, aligning the M4 screw threads and ensuring that the Riser plate is centred.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
Right
1. Line up the orange safety stop with the corresponding port on the LeftField Mini Baseplate, sliding it in until the M4 screw threads are aligned.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.
Camera to Dovetail
1. Align the 1/4” and 3/8” screw with the corresponding thread on the base of your camera.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the screw into place.
Dovetail to Riser
1. Slide the dovetail plate in through the front of the baseplate, until it is optimally aligned and balanced. Dovetails can only be loaded from the front.
2. When in place, use the ratcheting lever clamp to secure the Riser.
Top Plate to Camera
1. Use a flathead screwdriver to screw the central screw of the Top Plate to the C80’s top point.
2. Remove the Film Plane Hook from the C80 body.
3. Use a 3mm Hex Key to screw the included bolt into the Film Plane Hook Slot – marked with a padlock on the Top Plate.
4. Use the 3mm Hex Key to screw the third and final screw into the C80’s strap point – also marked with a padlock.
Side Rib to Top Plate
1. Align the top of the Side Rib with the marked screw thread on the C80 Top Plate – the writing should be upwards with the Cold Shoe mount at the top of the plate.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the captive M4 screw through to the Top Plate – the locating pins will help ensure a flush fit.
Brace to Side Rib
1. Align the captive M4 screw of the Side Rib with the slot of the Brace – the Brace should be bent outwards from the front of the camera.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the two parts together.
Brace to Universal Dovetail
1. Align the captive 1/4″-20 screw thread of the side rib brace with the universal dovetail (they should already be roughly aligned if the camera has been mounted).
2. Position your camera forwards or backwards on the dovetail as required, and use a flathead screwdriver to screw the included 1/4″-20 screw through the base of the dovetail into the brace.
Top Handle to NATO Rail
1. Slide the NATO clamp onto a corresponding NATO rail – if the rail has a central socket, you will hear the spring-loaded balls click into place when the handle is centred.
2. Use the lever clamp to tighten the Top Handle into place.
HDMI Clamp to Side Rib
1. Align the HDMI Clamp screw with the marked channel on the C70 Side Plate or C80 Side Rib.
2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to install the mounting screw – leaving it slightly loose for fine-tuned adjustment.
Cable to HDMI Clamp
1. Install the HDMI Cable whilst the Clamp is loose – it is important to do this before tightening.
2. Slide the HDMI Clamp until it is aligned correctly with the plug.
3. Secure the Clamp in place with the 3mm Hex Key.
4. Use a 2mm Hex Key to loosen the internal Clamp Adjustment screw on the other side of the HDMI Clamp to tighten onto the HDMI plug.
5. Tighten until the HDMI cable is secure in place (do not over-tighten).
Compatibility
The LeftField Mini Canon C80 Advanced Kit (DJI) Kit is designed to be compatible with DJI RS gimbals and the Canon C80 – as well as standard Manfrotto tripod plates or ARRI dovetails for alternate accessory mounting. When assembled, the C80 is set to the correct height for gimbal use.
