With the LeftField 3 Baseplate for Canon C400, you can experience unmatched convenience in any shooting setup. Setting the camera to the 15mm LWS height standard, our Open•UP baseplate provides the perfect foundation for rigging. Mounting to any ARRI-standard dovetal, it is effortless to slide or lift your whole rig – for seamless transitions from tripod to handheld shooting.

Open•UP Mechanism

Our patented Open•UP system makes it easy to set up your setup. Open•UP baseplates allow you to lower your camera rig directly onto an ARRI-standard dovetail. If you half-close the locking lever, you can still slide the dovetail back-and-forth for optimised balance. Use the lever on the side to transition between locked, sliding and unlocked on the dovetail.

Level Up Your Setup

The LeftField 3 baseplate also features independently-locking rod brackets, set to the 15mm LWS rod standard. When paired with the included C400 Riser, your camera will be at the perfect height for complex rigging. Correctly rig up matte boxes, follow-focus wheels and more with just a handful of rods.

Any ARRI Dovetail

LeftField baseplates are compatible with ARRI dovetails of any length, for convenient use with tripods, gimbals and other mounting points. If you don’t have a dovetail, we’ve thrown one in with the kit: which features 1/4″ and 3/8” screw threads for convenient attaching to different surfaces.

The LeftField system of quick-release baseplates are the most convenient mounting option for professional filmmakers. Our patented Open•UP system allows you to cleanly mount your camera rig to any ARRI standard dovetail in moments, and release it just as quickly.

Instructions/Assembly

The Canon C400 Standard Riser ships as a singular unit with all screws. It requires a Flathead Screwdriver and a 3mm Hex Key to install.

Riser to Baseplate

1. Install the riser to the baseplate by aligning the six M4 screws with the 15mm LWS Baseplate.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key and tighten then six screws in an alternating pattern, securing the riser onto the baseplate.

3. The riser is now attached to the baseplate.

Baseplate to Camera

1. To install the baseplate on to the Canon C400, align the 1/4” and 3/8” screws with the base of the C400.

2. Use a flathead screwdriver to secure the baseplate to the camera. Alternate between the two screws to ensure a tight fit.

Compatibility

The LeftField 3 Baseplate for Canon C400 comes with all required components for dovetail mounting. The Riser is designed specifically for the Canon C400, but the Baseplate and Dovetail are universal components that can be used with any camera setup.
