We’re in Love with this Valentine’s Day Documentary Short

Valentine’s Day is many things to many people: some love February 14th as a chance to show their affections, some see it as a scam peddling roses and chocolates to the masses. Whatever side of the camp you fall on, this short ob-doc from Will Corry and our very own Josh Cooper will remind you that ultimately Valentine’s Day is about one thing: love.
Love on the Highstreet is a 14-minute documentary: interviewing pedestrians on London’s busy streets on Valentine’s Day 2023 and 2024. Full of humour and heart, it provides a bundle of windows into the love lives of dozens of Londoners.
From florists working day-and-night to ship out bouquets to the simple honesty of a 75-year-old who loves his wife after years of marriage, Love on the Highstreet covers the full spectrum of the Valentine’s debate.

Shot on the Sony FX3 (with one of our Misfit Atom matte boxes) over two days – two years apart – the documentary was entirely self-funded. We’ve been hearing about the progress throughout the year as Love on the Highstreet went through post-production.
Love on the Highstreet is now available to watch on Vimeo at the link above. It’s romantic and raunchy, cheerful and charming – we challenge you to watch it and not smile.
