With the Essentials Kit for RED KOMODO and RED KOMODO-X, you can create the core of a perfect RED rig. Coming with our dedicated top and side plates, as well as a top handle and top bar bracket, the Essentials Kit offers a streamlined customisation experience. Expand your KOMODO or KOMODO-X further using the array of 1/4″ and 3/8″ Helicoil threads, along with QD sockets and NATO rails; enabling you to create the most versatile rig for your shooting needs.

KOMODO and KOMODO-X Compatible
The Essentials Kit is compatible with both the RED KOMODO and RED KOMODO-X, and can be used with other RED rigging options. The top and side plates provide dedicated mounting options for our Lens Adaptor Supports for RED KOMODO, allowing you to create a more sturdy rig with ease.
Helicoil Fittings
All of the 1/4″ and 3/8″ threaded points – as well as the Quick-Detach (QD) sockets – are fitted with stainless steel Helicoil inserts. These prevent stripping or binding when accessorising, which adds to the longevity of your components.
Easy to Handle
Our NATO-mounted top handle provides not only additional mounting options, but a convenient grip point as well. Using a sliding NATO base and an adjustable bracket, the top handle can be configured in any orientation that you need – and pairs with the Top Plate’s NATO rail for quick and convenient use.
Convenient 15mm Placement
Mounting to the NATO top handle is our dedicated bracket for a pair of 15mm support rods. The convenient positioning makes it a perfect choice for adding additional accessories, such as lens motors or viewfinder mounts, to the top of your camera.
