The LeftField 3 Expert Kit for RED V-RAPTOR adds accessory mounting options and compatibility with ARRI-standard dovetails, as well as a 15mm LWS Baseplate. All components fit together seamlessly and can be used to mount accessories from a range of 1/4″, 3/8″, 15mm rod brackets and ARRI rosettes.
The LeftField 3 Expert Kit is compatible with DJI RS 3 and RS 4 gimbal systems and is made from lightweight anodised aluminium for wear and corrosion resistance.

Description
The LeftField 3 Expert Kit is the best camera cage for RED V-RAPTOR shooters looking to reduce downtime. Attaching to any standard ARRI dovetail, the LeftField Baseplate uses our Open•UP quick-release system to seamlessly mount or dismount in moments. Each of the accessory plates – coming with a range of 1/4″ and 3/8″ screw thread mounting options – is made from anodised aluminium with Helicoil inserts, meaning that you can continuously use this V-RAPTOR kit without fear of wear-and-tear.
Supporting 15mm rods in the 15mm LWS configuration, the LeftField Expert Kit for RED V-RAPTOR is a comprehensive customisation kit.
Open•UP with LeftField
At the core of the LeftField 3 Baseplate is the dovetail clamp, which uses our Open•UP for quick-release capabilities. This means that your camera is secured in place when you need it, but easily released when you don’t with the flick of a clamp switch. The LeftField Baseplate can mount to any ARRI-standard dovetail, even those out of tolerance.
15mm LWS Compatibility
The LeftField Baseplate also adds the option to mount support rods in the 15mm LWS configuration; for the additional mounting of follow-focus motors, matte boxes and more. If you need to adjust the weight distribution of your rig, then this provides a great alternative to mounting directly to your camera or lens – preventing damage to either.
DJI Mounting
Sticking with the Baseplate, the seamless versatility of the dovetail is easily expanded on with the included riser and for DJI RS 3 or RS 4 gimbal systems. With these, you can easily dovetail directly to your gimbal. For varied shooting scenarios where you need to quickly change from gimbal to shoulder-mounted to tripod shots, the LeftField 3 Expert Kit helps keep things quick.
Designed for the RED V-RAPTOR
The LeftField 3 Expert Kit is purpose-built for RED V-RAPTOR compatibility, with accessories fitting discreetly to the camera body. The V-RAPTOR Side Plates sit on the side of the camera and provides 1/4″ and 3/8″ screw threads, along with ARRI-standard rosettes for mounting handgrips or other accessories. The Right Side Horseshoe pairs perfectly with the Side Plate, allowing you to further vary your V-RAPTOR without adding to the camera’s compact footprint.
Accessorise with Ease
The rest of the LeftField 3 Expert Kit components are just as useful. The purpose-built RED V-RAPTOR Top Plate has a miniature dovetail of its own, meaning that you can slide or entirely remove the central element for quick accessory mounting. Likewise, the Sliding Top Handle allows you to adjust the individual positioning of your handle, and is fully compatible with our Master Handle Extension Set.
Durable and Dependable
For long-lasting performance, each part of the LeftField Expert Kit is designed and engineered to the highest quality standards. Made from anodised aluminium, each component is resistant to wear and corrosion; and the internals of the screw threads are fitted with stainless steel Helicoil inserts to prevent stripping or binding. The ARRI rosettes are CNC-milled for greater grip for your handgrips.

Instructions
Replacing the Washer
1: Use a T6 Torx driver (RS4) or 1.5mm hex key (RS 3 and 2) to loosen the central screw and carefully place aside.
2: Carefully remove the clamp lever.
3: Unscrew the clamp bolt. The bolt head resembles a small gear.
4: While unscrewing the clamp bolt, keep the clamp wedge pressed down with your fingers. This will prevent the springs dislodging the clamp wedge.
5: Replace the thicker washer with the thinner one in the kit, and immediately re-screw the clamp bolt back into position.
Calibrating the Clamp Lever
1: Place the Bright Tangerine DJI plate into the clamp as normal. Screw the gear-like bolt head down gently with your fingers until the clamp wedge is just touching the plate.
2: Note how the top of the bolt and the inside of the clamp lever have matching serrated gear-like teeth.
3: Place the clamp lever back over the head of the gear-like bolt head.
4: Before replacing the central screw, swing the clamp lever back and forth and check that the plate is locked in the fully locked position, and is able to slide in the unlocked position.
5: You may need to reposition the clamp lever on the gear-like bolt, by lifting it up and re-engaging it with the teeth in a different position. This is much like using a wrench or spanner on a hex bolt.
6: Once you have got the lever movement tuned and clamping securely, replace the central screw.
Compatibility
The LeftField 3 Expert Kit for RED V-RAPTOR is compatible with the RED V-RAPTOR, with a number of accessories designed to mount specifically to this camera. The LeftField Baseplate allows the camera to be paired with 15mm LWS setups, as well as mounting to any standard ARRI dovetail.
The remaining components provide 1/4″ and 3/8″ screw threads; along with ARRI rosettes and 15mm rod brackets.
