The LeftField 3 Base Kit for RED KOMODO and KOMODO-X provides a series of camera accessories that help configure your RED camera for different shooting setups. With a quick-release baseplate that accommodates 15mm rods, the kit provides a foundation for complex customisation.
The Base Kit features a 15mm LWS Baseplate, a Top Plate and a pair of Side Plates.

Description
Our LeftField 3 Base Kit for RED KOMODO & RED KOMODO-X camera bodies is the perfect starting point for your RED rig. Providing full compatibility with ARRI standard dovetails, employing our Open•Up system for quick-release convenience, this kit allows you to easily move your camera from mount to mount.
Featuring the dedicated KOMODO Side Plates and Top Plates, you’ll have plenty of rigging options with this LeftField Kit.
Quick-Release Convenience
Using our patented Open•Up system, the LeftField 3 Base Kit can be quickly mounted or dismounted on any standard ARRI dovetail. This allows you to quickly and easily transition from handheld to tripod-mounted shooting, whenever you need.
15mm LWS Compatibility
The LeftField 3 baseplate also provides two rod brackets for use in 15mm LWS setups, providing even more options for customising your camera. An industry-standard rod configuration, you can use 15mm LWS to mount a range of accessories, offsetting the weight from the camera to the base. Moderate incoming light with a matte box, or add a follow-focus motor for easy manual focusing – there are plenty of choices to be made.
Top and Side Mounting
If you need more traditional mounting options for your RED KOMODO or KOMODO-X, this kit has you covered. With 3/8″ and 1/4″ mounting threads, along with integrated NATO rails; the dedicated side plates are a seamless and superb addition to your RED rig. The top plate provides the same convenient accessory options with additional Quick-Detach (QD) sockets. All fittings feature stainless-steel Helicoil for long-lasting strength without stripping or binding.
