Description

Rig accessories to your Canon C400 setup with this top handle cheese plate while staying low profile. Mounting to the side of the stock C400 top handle, this plate provides additional mounting options for your camera without taking up too much real-estate on the body.

1/4” and 3/8” threads line the plate, for easy mounting of camera accessories. A 15mm rod bracket on the front, provides you with even more options – allowing you to mount lens motors, monitor mounts or any other accessory using 15mm rods such as our Drumstix range.

Easily installed via two screws, the top handle cheese plate adds versatility to your C400 top handle while staying lightweight.

Cheese Plate Convenience

Using this top handle cheese plate offers up a suite of convenient accessory options for your C400 setup. Mounting directly to the stock top handle, you can attach accessories horizontally or vertically via the 1/4” and 3/8” threads.

Shockmount Points

Additionally, you can continue to use the C400 microphone shockmount via the dedicated slot for unobstructed audio. You can mount the shockmount from the side or the top of the cheese plate.

Forward 15mm Rod Support

The top handle cheese plate also offers support for a 15mm rod. Operated via a winged-lever clamp (ergonomically designed to be easy to use with gloves or in difficult conditions), this provides front-facing 15mm rod support for your camera. Mount a lens motor, monitor mount or any other accessory using this cheese plate.

Horizontal 15mm Rod Bracket

Alongside the front-facing rod bracket, the top handle cheese plate also doesn’t obstruct the sideways 15mm rod thread on the front of the C400’s top handle. This allows you to feed through the stock monitor mount rod and add extra security by tightening the secondary rod bracket.

Simple Installation

The cheese plate mounts directly to your C400 using the shockmount points on the top handle. It attaches securely using the two included M4 screws with a 3mm Hex key.

The C400 top handle cheese plate is made from anodised aluminium: a high-quality material that provides durability and corrosion-resistance whilst also being lightweight. For shooters needing a lightweight camera build, this cheese plate is the perfect addition.

Instructions/Assembly

The Top Handle Cheese Plate ships as a standalone unit with no assembly required, and includes the two M4 screws required for mounting. A 3mm Hex Key is required to install the screws.

1. If installed, remove the Canon shockmount from the handle using a Philips screwdriver.

2. Next, align the cheese plate with the corresponding threads on the C400 top handle: located on the front-right side of the handle.

3. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the cheese plate to the top handle, ensuring it is level against the handle for a secure fit.

Compatibility

The C400 Top Handle Cheese Plate is designed to work with the Canon C400’s stock top handle only. It is compatible with other stock Canon accessories such as the microphone shockmount and monitor bracket. The 1/4” and 3/8” threads provide compatibility with a broad range of other camera accessories, as does the 15mm rod bracket.
