A Clean VENICE Setup
The Expert Kit for Sony VENICE Extension System Mini gives you the freedom to accessorise your camera however you need: taking advantage of every millimetre of camera real-estate without adding excessive bulk. With the assembled Top, Rear and Side Plates, the VENICE Extension is covered with 1/4″, 3/8” and MAP M4 mounting points – all without covering the camera’s drop-in ND filter slot or air vents.
A Mini Setup
Despite being 60% of the size, the LeftField Mini Baseplate compromises on none of the functionality. It features our Open•UP system, which makes it more convenient than ever to mount your rig to ARRI-standard dovetails (plus, the Advanced Kit features an 8” Create Dovetail for you to mount). Pair with the included Riser to set your VENICE Extension to the 15mm LWS standard height.
Easily Handled
You have two options for handheld shooting with the Expert Kit: attach our two KASBAH Hand Grips via the included ARRI rosettes and extension arms for a comfortable and breathable running setup, or use the sturdy Sliding Top Handle for an overhead grip. The latter slides back-and-forth for different grip orientations and features its own extensive array of accessory mounting points; including 1/4” and 3/8”, as well as a Cold Shoe mount and QD socket.
Modular
Preparation is half the battle, but some shoots don’t need a fully-rigged camera setup, As such, the Expert Kit is designed to be used piecemeal for different scenarios. Accessories like the Top Bar Bracket can be easily removed if you don’t need top rod support, or have alternative configurations to suit different rig sizes.

Instructions/Assembly
The Expert Kit for Sony VENICE Extension System Mini comes with all required screws and components. You will require a 3mm, 4mm and 5mm Hex Key in order to assemble the kit.
Top Plate to Camera
1. Align the Top Plate’s screw threads with those on the Sony VENICE Extension Mini, so that the plate is in a U-shape with the vents and ND slot unobstructed.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly screw the Top Plate into place.
Top Handle to Top Plate
1. Align the 1/4″ threads of the Top Handle with two 1/4″ threads on the Top Plate.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly attach the two included 1/4″ screws.
Top Bar Bracket to Top Handle
1. Align the 3/8” screw of the Top Bar Bracket with the mount on the Top Handle’s base – choosing whether you want the bar bracket higher or lower from the camera body.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to screw all components together.
Side Plate(s) to Camera
1. Align the Side Plate with the left-hand side of the Sony VENICE Extension, with the 1/4″ screws aligned and the text facing upwards.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key in order to tightly secure the Side Plate in place.
Rear Plate to Camera
1. Align the Rear Plate with the back of the VENICE Extension Mini, so that the text is facing upright.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly secure the Rear Plate to the camera extension block.
Riser to Camera
1. Align the 1/4″ and 3/8” screws of the Riser with the corresponding threads on the VENICE Extension Mini.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly screw the 3/8” screw into place.
3. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the 1/4″ screw into place.
Riser to LeftField Mini
1. Align the Riser in the LeftField Mini’s central channel so that the Riser sits squarely in the centre of the Baseplate.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to screw the M4 screws of the Riser into place.
ARRI Rosette Adaptor to Side Plates
1. Align the 3/8” and 1/4″ screws with corresponding threads on a side plate or cheese plate – using the locating pins to help precisely position the rosette.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly screw the 3/8” screw into place.
3. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the 1/4″ screw into place.
KASBAH Hand Grip/Extension Arm to ARRI Rosette
1. Align the ARRI rosette of the Hand Grip or Extension Arm with the ARRI Rosette on the Adaptor.
2. Use a 5mm Hex Key to tightly screw the two rosettes together.
Compatibility
The Expert Kit for Sony VENICE Extension System Mini is compatible with the Sony VENICE Extension System Mini alone, with purpose-built accessories such as the Side Plates and Rear Plates. However, many components are broadly compatible due to their universal mounting systems – including the Sliding Top Handle, KASBAH Hand Grips and LeftField Mini Baseplate.
