Make everything easier with the Create Shoulder Rig: our latest tool to help make filmmaking as accessible as possible. With a multi-standard clamp for Manfrotto, DJI and Arca plates; the Shoulder Rig is a convenient platform for shooting documentary-style footage. The magnetic shoulder pad allows for flexible positioning, and an integrated VCT-14 mount means that you can easily set your rig down for static shots.

Seamless Shoulder Shooting

The Create Shoulder Rig allows you to cleanly and quickly transition your whole rig from setup to setup. The top of the rig fits any Manfrotto, DJI or Arca standard plate, with safety stops to ensure the camera doesn’t come loose unintentionally. The entire shoulder rig can also be quickly mounted to VCT-14 tripods, allowing you to set your rig down before you set it up.

Universal Shoulder Rig

The Create Shoulder Rig’s multi-dovetail design means that you can mount any camera system to the rig, for easy shooting. The central channel of the shoulder rig offers up to 200mm of sliding travel depending on the dovetail plate used (so long as it maintains contact with the clamp mechanism). For full rigs or minimal setups, the Create Shoulder Rig is always action-ready.

Adjustable Shoulder Pad

The Create Shoulder Rig features an EVA foam pad with a rubber coating, for a combination of flexibility and rigidity – ideal for shoulder rigs. There are magnets built into the indented circles on the pad’s top, which align to the magnets on the Create Shoulder Rig’s base and give you four distinct positions for the pad. This helps you optimally balance your rig, no matter how big or small.

Deep Customisation Options

Alongside being able to mount the most common dovetail plates, you also have freedom to customise your rig however you need. The Create Shoulder Rig features dual ARRI rosettes, ideally placed for handgrips, or you can mount them further from the rig via the adjustable rod bracket on the front. There’s also a separate rod bracket at the rear for battery packs, as well as MAP M4 mounts on the side of the Create Shoulder Rig. This allows you to accessorise accessibly, ready for any shooting scenario.

Instructions/Assembly

Universal Dovetail to Shoulder Rig

1. Slide the Universal Dovetail in through the front of the Create Shoulder Rig, with the Dovetail facing forward.

2. Tighten the lever clamp until the dovetail is secure.

Arca Dovetail to Shoulder Rig

1. Lower the Arca plate into the Create Shoulder Rig’s central channel.

2. Tighten the lever clamp until the dovetail is secure.

DJI Dovetail to Shoulder Rig

1. Slide the DJI Dovetail in through the front of the Create Shoulder Rig with the Dovetail facing forward and the front safety button pressed if needed.

2. Tighten the lever clamp until the dovetail is secure.

Manfrotto Dovetail to Shoulder Rig

1. Reverse the Manfrotto Dovetail so that the front of the dovetail is facing the front of the Shoulder Rig.

2. Slide the Manfrotto Dovetail into the central channel, pressing the front safety in if needed.

3. Tighten the lever clamp until the dovetail is secure.

Adjusting the Shoulder Pad Position

1. Remove the Shoulder Pad from the Shoulder Rig and re-align the indents on the top of the shoulder pad with the magnets on the Create Shoulder Rig’s base.

2. Attach the Shoulder Pad to the Shoulder rig, ensuring that the magnets are firmly in place.

Support Rods to Shoulder Rig

1. Insert the support rod into the bracket at either end of the shoulder rig.

2. Use the lever clamp on the side to tighten the clamp and secure the support rod in place.

Adjusting the Front Rod Bracket Height

1. Use a 5mm Hex Key to loosen the M8 screw on the front of the Create Shoulder Rig.

2. Adjust the Front Rod Bracket to the ideal height.

3. Use the 5mm Hex Key to tighten the M8 screw.

Compatibility

The Create Shoulder Rig is compatible with any camera system, mounted to a compatible dovetail.

Arca Dovetails must be a minimum of 8.7mm tall and 100mm long in order to mount to the Shoulder Rig. Manfrotto dovetails must be loaded into the Shoulder Rig back-to-front in order to securely mount.

The Create Shoulder Rig also features ARRI rosettes for mounting compatible hand grips, as well as 15mm rod brackets at the front and rear.
