Shooting Made Easy
It can be confusing as a filmmaker when juggling multiple setups: the different dovetail standards and fine-tuning of your rig can drag out the downtime on set. The Create Shoulder Rig and Universal Dovetail Kit helps remedy that: with a modular setup that makes it effortless to swap between gimbals, tripods and shoulder-mounted shooting. Mount the entire Shoulder Rig to a VCT-14 tripod, or quickly detach the Universal Dovetail and mount it seamlessly to a DJI gimbal or Manfrotto tripod.
Find the Right Balance
When using the Create Shoulder Rig and Universal Dovetail together, you have complete control over the positioning and balance of your rig. The Universal Dovetail’s central channel allows you to slide the camera back-and-forth, and the dovetail itself can be precisely positioned on the Shoulder Rig (with safety stops to prevent it falling off completely). And to minimise shoulder strain, the shoulder pad can be positioned in four places.
Adjustable Shoulder Pad
There’s more to that shoulder pad than meets the eye, too: the Create Shoulder Rig features an EVF foam pad with a rubber coating, for a combination of flexibility and rigidity – ideal for shoulder rigs. It helps cushion your camera setup for those long shoot days, with a design that can be reversed or repositioned to suit your shoulder.
Get a Grip
With the foundations that this Kit provides, there are plenty of customisation options for the Create Shoulder Rig. There are MAP M4 mounting points along the side, as well as ARRI rosettes for attaching handgrips such as those in our KASBAH range. If you find that the handles are too close for comfort, use the included Drumstix support rods in this kit to put some distance. Adjust the 15mm rod bracket at the front to the optimal height easily, to ensure that your grip is always comfortable.

Instructions/Assembly
Camera to Universal Dovetail
1. Align the 1/4” or 3/8” screw with the corresponding thread on the base of your camera.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the screw into place.
Universal Dovetail to Shoulder Rig
1. Slide the Universal Dovetail in through the front of the Create Shoulder Rig, with the Dovetail facing forward.
2. Tighten the lever clamp until the dovetail is secure.
Support Rods to Shoulder Rig
1. Insert the support rod into the bracket at either end of the shoulder rig.
2. Use the lever clamp on the side to tighten the clamp and secure the support rod in place.
Adjusting the Shoulder Pad Position
1. Remove the Shoulder Pad from the Shoulder Rig and re-align the indents on the top of the shoulder pad with the magnets on the Create Shoulder Rig’s base.
2. Attach the Shoulder Pad to the Shoulder rig, ensuring that the magnets are firmly in place.
Adjusting the Front Rod Bracket Height
1. Use a 5mm Hex Key to loosen the M8 screw on the front of the Create Shoulder Rig.
2. Adjust the Front Rod Bracket to the ideal height.
3. Use the 5mm Hex Key to tighten the M8 screw.
Compatibility
The Create Shoulder Rig and Universal Dovetail Kit is compatible with any camera system, mounted to a compatible 1/4″ or 3/8” screw thread. The Universal Dovetail can also be used with the Shoulder Rig as well as compatible Manfrotto 501PL tripods and DJI RS gimbals.
