The Create Canon C80 Base Kit adds new rigging possibilities for the compact cinema camera: providing you with a Universal Dovetail, C80 Top Plate and a NATO Mount for the Canon C80’s stock top handle.
The Create Base Kit allows you to mount the C80 to any standard Manfrotto tripod or DJI RS 4 gimbal; and provides a range of accessory mounting options including 1/4″, 3/8”, MAP M4, Cold Shoe and QD sockets.

The Create Canon C80 Base Kit gives you everything you need to get started with your C80. The combination of the Universal Dovetail on the base of the camera and the Top Plate on the top gives you freedom to rig your camera however you may need; with accessory mounting options and compatibility with industry-standard formats.
One Dovetail, Endless Options
Our Universal Dovetail is the only dual-compatible dovetail for both DJI RS 4 gimbal plates and Manfrotto 501PL tripods, which means that you can seamless switch between gimbal and tripod shooting. The design offers sliding travel to help balance your setup, meaning that your C80 will be prepped for everything. From nimble gimbal shooting to static tripod shots, reduce downtime with our multipurpose dovetail.
Top Plate Convenience
Where the Universal Dovetail adds freedom of placement for your camera, our C80 Top Plate offers freedom for what you place on the camera. The Top Plate provides a canvas for customisation with 1/4″ and 3/8” anti-twist points; as well as MAP M4 points, a Cold Shoe mount, QD sockets and 15mm rod support. Securely mounted from three points, the Top Plate is a firm foundation for rigging.
Full Functionality
With the Create Canon C80 Base Kit, we’ve worked to keep full access to the stock C80’s features. With our Top Plate covering the intended C80 top handle slot, the included NATO Mount repurposes the top handle for use on a NATO rail, so you can quickly install or adjust your handle on the move. We’ve also offered alternate placements for the C80’s film plane hook and microphone shockmount – meaning you don’t have to choose between freedom and function.

Instructions/Assembly
The Create Canon C80 Base Kit comes with all required components and screws. You will require a 3mm Hex Key and a flathead screwdriver to correctly install.
Camera to Dovetail
1. Align the 1/4” or 3/8” screw with the corresponding thread on the base of your camera.
2. Use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the screw into place.
Top Plate to Camera
1. Use a flathead screwdriver to screw the central screw of the Top Plate to the C80’s top point.
2. Remove the Film Plane Hook from the C80 body.
3. Use a 3mm Hex Key to screw the included bolt into the Film Plane Hook Slot – marked with a padlock on the Top Plate.
4. Use the 3mm Hex Key to screw the third and final screw into the C80’s strap point – also marked with a padlock.
Top Handle to NATO Mount
1. Align the striped rosette of the C80 Top Handle with the stripes on the NATO Mount.
2. Use the 1/4″ thumbscrew on the Top Handle to tightly secure the two components together.
NATO Mount to NATO Rail
1. Loosen the lever clamp slightly and slide the NATO Mount onto a compatible NATO rail.
2. When in position, tighten the lever clamp.
Compatibility
The Create Canon C80 Base Kit is compatible with the Canon C80, with a purpose-built Top Plate and NATO Mount for the stock C80 top handle. The Universal Dovetail, however, is compatible with a range of other cameras and can be repurposed. The Dovetail is also compatible with Manfrotto 501PL heads and DJI RS 4 gimbal plates, making it compatible with most industry-standard mounting points.
