Set yourself up for high-end filmmaking with our Create Advanced Kit for the Canon C80. Featuring a range of camera accessories, the Advanced Kit can be used completely or piecemeal for expanding your C80 setup. Featuring a range of industry-standard mounting options, the Advanced Kit also allows you to seamlessly switch mounting options: from standard tripods to gimbals, or handheld via the convenient Top Handle.

Deep Customisation

With the selection of accessories in the Create Advanced Kit, your C80 setup can be transformed to suit any production. The Top Plate alone features an array of 1/4″ and 3/8” anti-twist threads, as well as MAP M4 points, QD sockets, a Cold Shoe mount and integrated NATO rail.

For Every Setup

The combination of our Universal Dovetail with the Create Baseplate gives you unlimited options for customising your setup. The Dovetail adds compatibility with Manfrotto 501PL tripods and DJI RS gimbal plates, for seamless transitions between them. This makes it compatible with the Create Baseplate, which can also accommodate Arca and Sachtler tripod standards as well as Manfrotto and DJI. This allows you to seamlessly swap out different mount options in moments – for smooth shooting in any setup.

Compact Cinematography

One of the major selling points of the Canon C80 is its full-frame sensor in such a compact body. We’ve worked to ensure that the Advanced Kit doesn’t add to the camera’s minimal footprint. The included Side Rib maintains a convenient profile match, allowing you to still reach the C80’s inputs and buttons. Likewise, the Top Plate creates a level plane for accessory mounting whilst offering relocation points for covered inputs – such as the C80’s microphone shockmount or film plane hook.

Handled with Care

For transporting your setup or gripping during handheld shots, the Short Create Top Handle  gives you a great balance of footprint and function. With a lower height and shorter length, the Top Handle keeps your rig small whilst providing a range of accessory mounting options. It mounts to the Top Plate’s integrated NATO rail, and clicks into place when exactly centred.

Built to Last

The Create Advanced Kit is built to the highest standards of durability and versatility. The primary material is aerospace-grade aluminium, which has been hard-anodised for extra strength whilst also being lightweight. The Universal Dovetail and Top Handle feature rubber inlays for added grip, and the included Drumstix Support Rods are made from modular structural alloy that can be extended with compatible Rod Joiners.

Instructions/Assembly

The Create Canon C80 Advanced Kit comes with all required components and screws. You will require your own flathead screwdriver and 3mm Hex Key in order to assemble it.

Camera to Universal Dovetail

1. Align the captive 3/8” screw with the corresponding thread on the base of your Canon C80.

2. Use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the screw into place.

Dovetail to Create Baseplate

1. Slide the Universal Dovetail into the rear of the Create Baseplate.

2. Tighten the clamp using the winged lever.

Top Plate to Camera

1. Use a flathead screwdriver to screw the central screw of the Top Plate to the C80’s top point.

2. Remove the Film Plane Hook from the C80 body.

3. Use a 3mm Hex Key to screw the included bolt into the Film Plane Hook Slot – marked with a padlock on the Top Plate.

4. Use the 3mm Hex Key to screw the third and final screw into the C80’s strap point – also marked with a padlock.

Support Rods to Create Baseplate

1. Insert the Support Rods into the open brackets of the Baseplate.

2. When positioned, tightly secure them in place with the winged-lever clamp on either side.

Side Rib to Top Plate

1. Align the top of the Side Rib with the marked screw thread on the C80 Top Plate – the writing should be upwards with the Cold Shoe mount at the top of the plate.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the captive M4 screw through to the Top Plate – the locating pins will help ensure a flush fit.

Brace to Side Rib

1. Align the captive M4 screw of the Side Rib with the slot of the Brace – the Brace should be bent outwards from the front of the camera.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the two parts together.

Brace to Universal Dovetail

1. Align the captive 1/4″-20 screw thread of the side rib brace with the universal dovetail (they should already be roughly aligned if the camera has been mounted).

2. Position your camera forwards or backwards on the dovetail as required, and use a flathead screwdriver to screw the included 1/4″-20 screw through the base of the dovetail into the brace.

Top Handle to NATO Rail

1. Slide the NATO clamp onto a corresponding NATO rail – if the rail has a central socket, you will hear the spring-loaded balls click into place when the handle is centred.

2. Use the lever clamp to tighten the Top Handle into place.

Compatibility

The Create Canon C80 Advanced Kit is designed to be compatible with the Canon C80: with a purpose-built Top Plate, Side Rib and Side Rib Brace. The remaining accessories are universal, however, and can be used with any camera system.

The Universal Dovetail is compatible with any camera system, as well as mounting to both Manfrotto and DJI plates. The Create Baseplate is also universal; accommodating Manfrotto, DJI, Sachtler and Arca plates.
