Ideal for C400 shooters who frequently swap between Manfrotto tripods and DJI gimbals, the Base Kit allows you to seamlessly swap between the two thanks to its unique design. The modular Top Plate and NATO Cheese Stick provide a range of accessory mounting options including 1/4″ and 3/8” screw threads; as well as QD sockets, 15mm rod support and an integrated NATO rail.

Manfrotto & DJI Dovetail

Our Universal Dovetail mounts to any Manfrotto tripod or DJI RS gimbal plate, allowing you to seamlessly transition from sticks to gimbal shooting in seconds. Use the sliding inner channel of the dovetail to optimally balance your rig, making it ideal for heavier setups.

Modular Top Plate

Our C400 Top Plate comes in three parts, which can be used piecemeal for a lighter rig (the left and right plates can be individually used, whilst the front rod console requires one of them to be installed first). You can also use the optional Top Plate Filler – sold separately – to create a level plate across the top of the C400.

Clean Canon Customisation

For adding to your C400 without adding to the camera’s footprint, the Create Base Kit gives you the perfect foundations. The Top Plate sits on top of the C400 and offers a range of accessory mounting possibilities – all while keeping the C400’s multifunction shoe mount free. The side NATO Cheese Stick comes with an offset Adaptor, giving you clearance from the camera body for cable management, whilst providing a range of 1/4″ and 3/8” mounts along with an integrated NATO rail.

Accessory Mounting Options

Alongside industry-standard 1/4″ and 3/8” screw threads, the Create Base kit offers a range of other options. The Top Plate is furnished with QD sockets and has a 15mm rod console for adding lens motors. There are also MAP M4 points and dedicated mounts for the C400’s microphone shockmount and standard Top Handles.

Instructions/Assembly

The Create Canon C400 Base Kit comes with all required screws. You will require a 2.5mm and 3mm Hex Key to install, as well as a flathead screwdriver.

Top Plate to Camera

1. Line up the four screws on the left and/or right brackets with their corresponding mounting points on the C400.

2. Use a 2.5mm Hex Key to tightly attach them to the camera.

Rod Console to Top Plate

1. Align the front 15mm rod console pins with the matching threads on the left & right plates in the orientation you require.

2. Secure the rod console to the plates using the 2.5mm Hex Key.

Cheese Stick to Adaptor

1. Insert the two M4 screws into the corresponding threads on the Cheese Stick, aligning them with the matching holes on the adapter.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly fasten the cheese stick to the Adaptor, ensuring a secure fit.

Adaptor to Top Plate

1. Align the 1/4″ screw thread and locating pins with a corresponding thread on either the left or the right of the C400 Top Plate.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly secure the two in place.

Camera to Universal Dovetail

1. Align the captive screws with the corresponding thread on the base of your C400.

2. Use a flathead screwdriver to tighten the screw into place.

Compatibility

The Create Canon C400 Base Kit is designed for use on the Canon C400 camera, with the Top Plate being purpose-built for that camera. However, the Universal Dovetail and NATO Cheese Stick are compatible with any other camera body.

The Create Base Kit features a range of industry-standard mounting points such as 1/4″ and 3/8” screw threads; as well as a NATO rail, QD sockets and 15mm rod bracket – making the kit compatible with a range of third-party accessories and components.
