DJI Riser Mount for LeftField Mini

Description

The DJI Riser Mount for LeftField Mini allows you to use a range of Canon cameras with DJI RS gimbals: setting the camera to the correct height when paired with DJI dovetails. Using a modular system of three plates, the Riser mounts cleanly to the LeftField Mini Baseplate, with an easy-press safety for quick-release.

Lightweight and practical, the Riser is compatible with a range of Canon cameras including the Canon C70, C80 and C400 – as well as the Blackmagic PYXIS.

Designed for DJI

The Riser is designed to be used with DJI RS gimbals and dovetail plates, providing the necessary height clearance from the camera’s optical centre. Dovetails are front-loaded into the Riser, offering sliding travel, before being locked in place with the ratcheting lever clamp.

Clean Installation

The Riser comes in three distinct parts: left, middle and right. Each is labelled to avoid confusion and ensure correct directional placement. All three mount via M4 screws, meaning it just takes a standard 3mm Hex Key to install.

Canon-Compatible

For Canon shooters wanting the versatility of DJI gimbals, this Riser is the ideal solution. It is compatible with a range of Canon cinema cameras such as the C70, C80, C200, C300 Mk III, C400, C500 Mk II and C700. This bridges the gap between your Canon camera, DJI gimbals and our LeftField Mini Baseplate: creating a consistent and convenient rigging setup.

Quick-Release

Once installed, you can just as easily uninstall your DJI dovetail. The orange easy-press safety linking the right and middle parts of the Riser help keep the dovetail in place when you need it, but give you an easily-accessed quick-release button.

Part of the LeftField System

The LeftField system of quick-release baseplates are the most convenient mounting option for professional filmmakers. Our patented Open•UP system allows you to cleanly mount your camera rig to any ARRI standard dovetail in moments, and release it just as quickly.

Instructions/Assembly

The DJI Riser Mount for LeftField Mini comes in three parts with all required M4 screws. You will require a 3mm Hex Key to install it to the LeftField Mini.

Left

1. Align the Riser’s mounting holes with the two M4 threads on the outer edge of the LeftField Mini Baseplate – on the same side as the release clamp.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.

Middle

1. Align the profile of the middle part of the Riser, aligning the M4 screw threads and ensuring that the Riser plate is centred.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.

Right

1. Line up the orange safety stop with the corresponding port on the LeftField Mini Baseplate, sliding it in until the M4 screw threads are aligned.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the M4 threads through the Riser and the Baseplate.

Dovetail to Riser

1. Slide the dovetail plate in through the front of the baseplate, until it is optimally aligned and balanced. Dovetails can only be loaded from the front.

2. When in place, use the ratcheting lever clamp to secure the Riser.

It sets DJI dovetail plates to the correct height for use in DJI RS gimbals, and is compatible with a range of DJI dovetails such as the Universal Dovetail for Manfrotto & DJI RS 4 or the Universal DJI RS 4 & RS 3 Dovetail.

Whilst the Riser can take Manfrotto plates, the lack of a safety stop means that they can slide out of place.

Please note: when used with the DJI RS 4 & RS 3 Dovetail for Canon C70, the camera is not precisely to standard height by a handful of millimetres. We recommend using an alternative DJI dovetail.
