Running out of space on your rig? The Canon C80 Side Rib offers new customisation options for your Canon setup. With a range of accessory mounting points including 1/4″, MAP and Cold Shoe options; the Side Rib is a versatile choice for Canon shooters.

Mounting to your C80 (or C70) discreetly without blocking any inputs, the C80 Side Rib is ideal for building your rig with all the camera accessories you need.

Versatile Accessory Mounting

The Canon C80 Side Rib comes with a range of accessory mounting options for customising your camera. Alongside multiple 1/4″ and 3/8” anti-twist screw threads with industry-standard spacing, there is also a row of MAP M4 points and a Cold Shoe mount for microphones (with a safety pin to ensure a secure hold). There is also a dedicated slot for the HDMI Clamp for Canon C70 & C80.

Customise Without Compromise

The Canon C80 Side Rib mounts to the left side of your Canon camera: offset from the camera body slightly in order to give you full access to all the camera inputs and buttons. Using captive M4 screws and locating pins to help keep the Side Rib firmly in place, all it takes is a few twists of a Hex Key to get set up.

C80 Rigging Options

For mounting to the Canon C80, the Side Rib offers a number of different rig configurations. It has a dedicated mounting point on our C80 Top Plate, but can form a complete cage by mounting to the LeftField Risers. Alternatively, for convenient swapping between Manfrotto and DJI setups, use the Canon C80 Side Rib Brace and our Universal Dovetail for quick and easy mounting.

Canon C70 Compatible

For filmmakers shooting on the Canon C70, the Side Rib also offers compatibility beyond the HDMI Clamp. The Side Rib’s mount on the base also works with our dedicated C70 Standard Riser or DJI RS 4 and RS 3 Dovetail for Canon C70.

Lightweight and Durable

The C80 Side Rib is made from lightweight aluminium, which is then hard-anodised for durability. This makes it lightweight on your rig but also durable enough to take the strain of camera accessory mounting. The Side Rib is resistant to the wear-and-tear and corrosion from frequent use, for long-lasting performance.

Instructions/Assembly

Side Rib to Top Plate

1. Align the top of the Side Rib with the marked screw thread on the C80 Top Plate – the writing should be upwards with the Cold Shoe mount at the top of the plate.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the captive M4 screw through to the Top Plate – the locating pins will help ensure a flush fit.

Side Rib to Base Mount

1. Align the M4 screw and locating pins at the bottom of your C80 Side Rib with the corresponding thread on the base mount.

2. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the captive M4 screw through both components.

Compatibility

The Canon C80 Side Rib is designed for use with the Canon C80 – mounting to our dedicated Top Plate – however, it can also be used with our Canon C70 kits as well. C80 users will require:
