The Advanced Kit for the Sony VENICE Extension System Mini gives you everything you need for cinematic shooting. Featuring a range of accessory mounting points – including 1/4″ and 3/8” screw threads along with QD sockets, MAP M4 points and 15mm rod brackets.
Featuring our LeftField Mini 15mm LWS Baseplate, the Advanced Kit is the perfect choice to enhance your setup.
Minimum Size, Maximum Freedom
Despite being 60% of the size, the LeftField Mini Baseplate compromises on none of the functionality. It features our Open•UP system, which makes it more convenient than ever to mount your rig to ARRI-standard dovetails (plus, the Advanced Kit features an 8” Create Dovetail for you to mount). Pair with the included Riser to set your VENICE Extension to the 15mm LWS standard height.
Ready for Rigging
With the Advanced Kit, you can customise your VENICE Extension System Mini with a huge range of options: from standard-issue 1/4″ and 3/8” threads along the Top, Rear and Side Plates; to more specialist options such as QD sockets on the Top Handle. The Advanced Kit also features 15mm rod brackets both as part of the LeftField Mini Baseplate and with the included Top Bar Bracket.
Full Functionality
The Advanced Kit allows you to customise without compromise: forming a wraparound cage around the VENICE Extension without interfering with the stock camera extension’s features. The Advanced Kit maintains full access to the drop-in ND filter slot and vents, ensuring full control over exposure and airflow.
Handle with Ease
The Sliding Top Handle is a versatile and essential component in the Advanced Kit. It is fully adjustable to be forwards or backwards-facing. The Top Handle also features the mount for the Top Bar Bracket, and can be customised to different shapes and sizes with our range of Master Handle Extensions.

Instructions/Assembly
The Advanced Kit for Sony VENICE Extension System Mini comes with all required screws and components. You will require a 3mm and a 4mm Hex Key in order to assemble the kit.
Top Plate to Camera
1. Align the Top Plate’s screw threads with those on the Sony VENICE Extension Mini, so that the plate is in a U-shape with the vents and ND slot unobstructed.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly screw the Top Plate into place.
Top Handle to Top Plate
1. Align the 1/4″ threads of the Top Handle with two 1/4″ threads on the Top Plate.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly attach the two included 1/4″ screws.
Top Bar Bracket to Top Handle
1. Align the 3/8” screw of the Top Bar Bracket with the mount on the Top Handle’s base – choosing whether you want the bar bracket higher or lower from the camera body.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to screw all components together.
Side Plate(s) to Camera
1. Align the Side Plate with the left-hand side of the Sony VENICE Extension, with the 1/4″ screws aligned and the text facing upwards.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key in order to tightly secure the Side Plate in place.
Rear Plate to Camera
1. Align the Rear Plate with the back of the VENICE Extension Mini, so that the text is facing upright.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly secure the Rear Plate to the camera extension block.
Riser to Camera
1. Align the 1/4″ and 3/8” screws of the Riser with the corresponding threads on the VENICE Extension Mini.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to tightly screw the 3/8” screw into place.
3. Use a 3mm Hex Key to tightly screw the 1/4″ screw into place.
Riser to LeftField Mini
1. Align the Riser in the LeftField Mini’s central channel so that the Riser sits squarely in the centre of the Baseplate.
2. Use a 4mm Hex Key to screw the M4 screws of the Riser into place.
Compatibility
The Advanced Kit for Sony VENICE Extension System Mini is designed to be compatible with that camera extension block alone, with the accessory plates designed to match the camera’s shape and size. The LeftField Mini Baseplate and Riser are compatible with other cameras and setups – please see their respective pages for details on compatibility. The Top Bar Bracket and Top Handle are universally compatible, and can be repurposed with other camera setups.
