Jakub Chlouba on the KASBAH Ātman Shoulder Rig

Jakub Chlouba KASBAH Atman Shoulder Rig Review

Our friend Jakub Chlouba recently took the KASBAH Ātman Shoulder Rig for a test run. We’d lent him the original KASBAH Shoulder Rig for a shoot in the Congo this time last year. The newer KASBAH Ātman has a range of improvements, so we offered it to Chlouba to put it through its paces.

Shooting on the Kinefinity MAVO Edge, Chlouba took the Ātman knee-deep into some Bali farmland as part of a project with social enterprise Astungkara Way, testing out the shoulder rig in the field – literally. He used the one-axis kit, preferring the more compact design over the more versatile two-axis option – though it still gave him plenty of freedom to shoot comfortably.

Jakub Chlouba KASBAH Atman Shoulder Rig Review

“The shoulder rig so far: I’m really enjoying using it. I love that [the shoulder pad] is adjustable, because sometimes I want the camera to be a little closer to me, sometimes I want it a little further. The quick-release system is also really nice, which allows me to basically switch between shoulder rig, handheld and on tripod.”

The KASBAH Ātman Shoulder Rig is available to buy now directly from Bright Tangerine or through our affiliated retailers.
