Bright Tangerine: 2024 in Review
It has been a very busy year for us at Bright Tangerine. We’ve been hard at work creating new camera accessories for you all to try out, but are about to take a break in order to be primed and ready for 2025. Our offices will be closed from the 24th December to the 2nd January – so we’ll see you next year.
Before we look forward, let’s look back on 2024. It has been a year filled with a flurry of product launches, industry change-ups and new faces – and we aren’t planning on slowing down. We’re grateful to each and every person who has supported us in this past year, and we hope you’ll continue to do so as we move into the next.
Sony BURANO Accessories
2024 kicked off with the launch of our Sony BURANO accessories in February – alongside the Sony BURANO itself. With dedicated components for customising the BURANO, along with kits for documentarians and narrative shooters alike, our kits were quickly adopted for their high quality and standout design.

That feedback is an essential part of our process: we design our products with the end-user in mind at all times. It was thanks to a suggestion by Alister Chapman that we were inspired to develop the new Touch Loupe for the BURANO at the same time. This allows you to access the camera’s touchscreen viewfinder whilst still shielding it from light.
BSC 2024
We also attended the British Society of Cinematographers’ annual expo in London that same month, demonstrating not just the BURANO range but also our then-prototype KASBAH Ātman Shoulder Rig – more on that below. Plenty of you came to get hands-on with some of our gear and meet our dedicated team.

KASBAH Ātman Universal Shoulder Rig
It was June when we made the KASBAH Ātman Shoulder Rig commercially available. The result of years of engineering and innovation, the Ātman has already risen through the ranks to become one of our top products in the six months since release.

Using a unique resin matrix design, many of you who first saw the Ātman mistook the shoulder pad and hand grips for metal due to their unique texture. In reality, we employed Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) to create a soft and comfortable material that contours to your shoulder muscles. Fully integrated with BUD systems, the KASBAH Ātman has become the only shoulder rig you’ll ever need.
Cine Gear 2024
Next up, we headed to Hollywood to present more of our equipment at Cine Gear 2024. We teamed up with Alister Chapman to bring a booth-full of products. Our flagship matte boxes, the legendary Prodigy Air Deflector and the KASBAH Ātman all featured.
We noted how many of you appreciated the dual-axis abilities of the KASBAH to move side-to-side as well as forwards and backwards – giving shooters greater freedom of movement – and soaking a camera’s front element in water only to clear it in a heartbeat with the Prodigy Air Deflector is always satisfying. We hope you stopped by to autograph our booth and try out our gear.
Canon C400 Accessories
We also attended IBC 2024 in Amsterdam, which saw the debut of the Canon C400 cinema camera. Those who attended may have noticed a few Bright Tangerine logos on the camera, where we showcased our first dedicated components for the camera. We released the range of purpose-built accessories shortly afterwards, and have now constructed comprehensive kits that you can order today.
Designed to offer increased versatility and customisation options without obstructing or removing any of the C400’s base functionality, our accessories have already proven popular with Canon shooters. Dave May ACS, a prolific Australian cinematographer, got in touch and gave us this positive review.
Create Accessories
At the same time, we also launched the first in our new Create range: offering our trademark versatility in a new streamlined package for smaller shoots. Designed with compatibility in mind, Create accessories can be used with almost any camera setup.

Drumstix Structural Alloy Rods
Late November saw the arrival of our new alternative Drumstix. These support rods – made from structural alloy rather than sterling titanium – can be seamlessly joined together via screw threads.
