“It’s all about story. I’m constantly reminding myself that whenever I enter into a project.”

– Kitalé Wilson

It is definitely a story worth telling. Two years ago, Dr. Geoff Wilson and his son Kitalé started work on Project Zero: setting sail from Australia on a journey across the world. In 2024, we partnered with the Project Zero team for the latest leg of their documentary, across the breathtaking landscape of Iceland.

But it’s not just a holiday. Even the most remote regions of our planet are affected by climate change, and Project Zero’s journey revolves around exploring and documenting those effects – without leaving the climate any worse for wear. Using sustainable practices such as recycled water, solar power and sailing; Project Zero is leaving no carbon footprint on their travels.

No two days were the same in Iceland: crossing river valleys on horseback, inching up glaciers, or even skirting around an active volcano. Project Zero needed a camera setup that was robust and reliable for each extreme, whilst also being versatile enough to transition between them.

In this short behind-the-scenes video, filmmakers Kitalé Wilson and Dom Gould explore how Bright Tangerine’s gear aligned with their approach to storytelling.

With the backdrop of the Icelandic wilderness, Moving Stories explores where creativity and practicality meet: how the Project Zero team’s choice of gear was essential for correctly capturing their journey.

Shooting on the Sony FX6, Project Zero used a range of Bright Tangerine gear to help shoot their documentary; including the Misfit Kick Mk II matte box and the KASBAH Ātman Shoulder Rig, as well as dedicated FX6 rigging accessories.

The full Project Zero documentary is in post-production, with a planned release in 2025.
